Although it might not be the first thing to pop into your mind, in modern vehicles Dual Automatic Climate Control is one of the coolest systems a vehicle can have – pun intended. For generations, the front passenger has had to put up with whatever temperature the driver desired. But that’s not the case in vehicles with a Dual Automatic Climate Control system, as it gives the front passenger the ability to set their own temperature independent of the driver. We thought we’d dive a bit into how this works and how you can adjust its settings.

What does the system do?

The Dual Automatic Climate Control system is able to control and adjust different parts of your vehicle automatically according to your desired settings. It can control the speed of the fan, the delivery of air, the air conditioning system as a whole and the recirculation settings. In order to set up automatic operation, simply press the AUTO button and then set your desired temperature.

With the system, you can individually set driver- and passenger-side settings. There is a temperature dial for each side, and there’s also a Sync button which you can press if you’d like everything to adhere to the driver-side settings. In vehicles like the 2020 Buick Enclave, you might also have a Rear Climate Control system, which works the exact same way. You can further customize the climate of your vehicle – in the front and rear – by adjusting the air vents to your meet your desires.

We utilized the Enclave’s owner’s manual when researching this information, so certain things may differ from vehicle to vehicle, but this should largely give you an idea of how the system works in your Buick or GMC vehicle if equipped!
