What is Drive Mode Control?

A lot of vehicles on today’s market – especially those geared towards off-road driving – have some sort of driver-selectable control modes that automatically shift different settings in the vehicle to match the desirable driving conditions. The exciting new HUMMER EV will be no different, offering its own Drive Mode Control feature. Each of the four different pre-configured modes will adjust the characteristics of the vehicle’s chassis, suspension system and propulsion. This includes a great many important settings such as what the maximum amount of torque delivered to the wheels will be.

In addition to changing the characteristics of how the vehicle drives, changing between different modes in the HUMMER EV will also bring with it unique graphics and colors to the display audio system as well as unique vehicle sounds.

What are the pre-configured modes?

In your 2022 GMC HUMMER EV, you’ll be able to select between Normal, Tow/Haul, Off-Road and Terrain as far as pre-configured modes are concerned. Each one changes the aforementioned characteristics to put the vehicle in an optimum state for the type of driving named in the setting. In addition, there will be My Mode, which not only allows you to adjust the settings to your own customized specifications, but also features Adrenaline Mode – a mode we can’t wait to learn more about.
