What makes the 2024 GMC HUMMER EV SUV super-strong and super-fast?

What provides strength and speed to the HUMMER EV SUV?
The HUMMER EV SUV, similarly to the Pickup, is built on a platform unlike anything the brand has ever produced. Adopting a structure where its body and battery are interdependent, the HUMMER EV models are truly unique. The design of this structure not only protects the double-stacked Ultium battery pack but creates an overall rigidity within the structure itself that is absolutely incredible. Thus, super-strength.
As for the super-speed, that comes thanks unique style of stacking long pouch cells found within General Motors’ Ultium battery pack. The cells are stacked both vertically and horizontally, which means despite the fact that the HUMMER EV SUV’s double-stacked battery pack consists of 20 modules, it doesn’t take up nearly as much space as it might in a competitor. This then enables the vehicle to generate a maximum of 830 horsepower alongside 11,500 pound-feet of torque, which translates to an acceleration from 0-60 miles per hour of 3.5 seconds when also equipped with Watts To Freedom.
