How to turn on intelligent headlights 

Depending on your SUV’s specific configuration, there are three potential ways to turn on intelligent headlights: 

• Turn-signal stalk button: Many SUVs have a dedicated button on the turn-signal stalk that can be easily pressed to activate intelligent headlights. 
• Touchscreen display button: Some models have an option on the touchscreen display. Simply navigate to the settings and look for a button labeled for the headlights or lights control. 
• Push the left turn-signal stalk forward: In other models, pushing the left turn-signal stalk forward can enable the intelligent headlight function. 

Once activated, intelligent headlights will only engage at speeds over 25 mph, helping to prevent unnecessary switching at lower speeds or in traffic. 

How to use automatic headlights correctly 

When using intelligent headlights, keep in mind that they rely on sensors to detect other vehicles and adjust the beam pattern accordingly. These sensors need to remain unobstructed to work effectively. If there’s snow, dirt, or other debris on the sensors, they may not function properly, so be sure to clear them as needed. Also, while driving on hilly terrain, the angle can impact the sensors’ effectiveness in detecting other vehicles, which could temporarily affect headlight performance.
