What are the different four-wheel drive options in my GMC?
There are four buttons for four-wheel drive: Auto, 2 high, 4 high, and 4 low. These options are shown in the video above. Here’s what they do:
- Auto delivers power to the axles as needed to provide grip and control.
- 2 high is for everyday highway driving on pavement. This mode provides the best fuel economy.
- 4 high should be used when extra traction is needed on snowy or icy roads.
- 4 low is used in low-traction situations on difficult off-road surfaces such as deep sand, snow, or mud. Only use this mode at low speeds.
