2021 Buick Enclave FWD and AWD Trims

The 2021 Buick Enclave midsize SUV comes in four trims – Preferred, Essence, Premium, and the luxurious Avenir trim. All four trims are powered by a standard 3.6L direct-injection DOHC V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower and up to 266 lb.-ft. of torque. Plus, you get to choose the 2021 Buick Enclave with front-wheel drive (FWD) that’s standard on all four trims, or the Essence, Premium, and Avenir trims with an optional AWD.

2021 Buick Enclave EPA-estimated Fuel Economy Ratings

The FWD-equipped Buick Enclave Preferred, Essence, Premium, and Avenir variants deliver EPA-estimated fuel economy of 18 MPG in the city, 26 MPG on the highway, and 21 MPG combined. On the other hand, the Enclave Essence AWD, Premium AWD, and Avenir AWD trim levels return one MPG less than their FWD siblings in all driving situations, returning 17/25/20 MPG (city/highway/combined).

If that isn’t impressive, you can improve the fuel economy of the 2021 Buick Enclave, as all trim levels come with a start/stop system. The feature helps further the EPA MPG ratings of all FWD trims up to 20 MPG in the city, 30 MPG highway and 24 MPG combined, while for AWD models the improvement is 20 MPG city, 29 MPG highway, and 23 combined.

The AWD variants boast a bigger 21.7-gallon fuel tank and are therefore able to deliver more gas mileage despite the one MPG drop in their EPA MPG ratings. You can expect 434 gas miles in the city, 629.3 miles on the highway, and 499.1 miles combined total gas mileage on the Buick Essence AWD, Premium AWD, and Avenir AWD.
