Step-by-step instructions for choosing a default phone in your car 

Setting a default phone in your GMC car can be done in a matter of minutes. All you need is your car and your desired default phone. Once you’re in your car with your phone, follow the steps below to set the phone as default or primary. 

  1. Put your car in Park. 
  2. Turn on the phone you want to be default. 
  3. On your car’s touchscreen, go to “Settings” and then “System”. 
  4. Tap “Phones” to see the list of all paired phones. 
  5. Tap the information icon to the right of the phone you want to be default. 
  6. Tap the “First to Connect” option.
