Last year, the GMC Terrain underwent quite a few upgrades for the new model year, but we learned early this year that those updates were just getting the Terrain ready for its first mid-generation facelift. Due to everything that has happened this year, however, that facelift has been pushed off until the 2022 model year. Even still, there is plenty to get excited about in the 2021 GMC Terrain, so we thought we’d highlight some of its impressive specs & features.

Most Recent Updates

We mentioned that the Terrain received some updates last year, those included the new Denali Premium Package – which combines the Advanced Safety Package and Comfort Package together, Front and Rear Park Assist as standard features on the Denali trim level, a new premium exterior color choice in White Frost Tricoat and, of course, the exciting Terrain Elevation Edition.

The Elevation Edition is a special package that can be added to either the SLE or SLT trim levels. It upgrades the Terrain’s wheels to a set of 19” gloss black aluminum ones, changes the front fascia to include a darkened grille insert and black surround, adds black mirror caps and roof rails in addition to a host of other black exterior accents and, finally, adds black badging to the exterior.

Powertrain & Capabilities

Regardless of which GMC Terrain trim level or package(s) you opt for, it’ll be powered by a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that’s capable of generating 170 horsepower alongside 203 pound-feet of torque. That gives it the ability to tow up to 1,500 pounds in addition to delivering an enjoyable experience each time you hit the road.
