Ecotec 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engine Standard engine on SKY Red Line. This engine uses the advanced technology of a dual scroll turbocharger and an air-to-air cooling system. At 130 hp per liter of displacement, it’s GM’s highest specific output engine ever. 0 - 60 mph times are approximately 5.5 seconds. - 260 hp @ 5,300 rpm. - 260 lb.-ft. of torque @ 2,500 - 5,200 rpm.

Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Featured on both SKY engines, VVT indicates control of both the intake and exhaust valve timing. This helps to improve engine performance and minimize emissions.

Aluminum construction Both SKY engines feature an aluminum head and cylinder block for reduced weight and improved front-to-rear balance.

Fuel injection Two different types of fuel injection systems are used on the SKY engines. - SFI (Sequential Fuel Injection): Used on the 2.4L engine, this system delivers the precise amount of fuel at the precise moment for maximum fuel efficiency and engine performance. - DI (Direct Injection): Used on the 2.0L engine, Direct Injection delivers fuel directly into the combustion chamber to create a more complete burn of the air/ fuel mixture. This means that less fuel is required to produce the equivalent horsepower, especially at cruising speeds, when compared to a conventional port-injection combustion system.

5-speed manual transmission A short-throw shifter helps ensure quick and precise gear engagements while the selfadjusting clutch ensures consistent operation, even as the friction material on the clutch disc wears. Standard.

Sports car structure SKY includes hydroformed frame rails and an enclosed driveshaft tunnel. Hydroforming allows for very high strength with minimal weight because of consistent frame wall thickness. The enclosed driveshaft tunnel improves aerodynamics by allowing smooth flow of air beneath the vehicle. In addition, a torque beam is used on all manual transmission-equipped SKYs to improve NVH aracteristics by countering the torque twist that occurs during hard acceleration with a manual transmissionequipped vehicle.

Premium Trim Package (PCQ) Available on Roadster, this package provides an upscale appearance with leather seat inserts, steering wheel-mounted audio controls add Bluetooth communications, leather-wrapped shift knob (only available with the manual transmission), metallic finish sill plates and stainless steel pedal covers. Interior trim is available in Black, Tan or Red. Leather seats are available on SKY and are a stand-alone option.

Dynamic exterior styling SKY’s hydroformed panels provide a taut exterior with tightly controlled lines. In addition, with a wide stance and wheels pushed to the corners of the vehicle the overall look is aggressive. The front end integrates the Saturn family face and features a pronounced fender peak, and a bold chrome bar carries the integrated Saturn badge. Projector halogen low beams and fog lamps, along with reflector optic high beam headlamps provide a sophisticated look. Chrome door handles, an available rear spoiler and aggressive wheel well flares enhance SKY’s already sporty appearance.

Sheet hydroforming This advanced manufacturing technique uses pressurized water to form the primary body panels, including the hood, door inners and quarter panels. The process allows complex shaping that is not possible with conventional metal stamping. Hydroforming also provides consistent metal thickness, which allows for reduced weight, with high strength.

Exterior paint colors New colors include Evening Blue and Ruby Red. Carryover colors are Sunburst Yellow (extra cost), Forest Green, Black Onyx, Polar White, Silver Pearl, Chili Pepper Red and Techno Gray.

Clamshell hood A front-hinged hood adds to classic roadster styling. Gas struts provide assistance for both opening and closing.

Reverse hinged decklid Decklid is reverse hinged, single piece and includes aero fairings. With the convertible top down and stacked, it’s completely covered by the decklid for a seamless appearance.

Convertible top Cloth top includes sound-insulating material for a quiet interior and defroster-equipped glass rear window for enhanced visibility. Available in Black or Tan.

Premium lighting Projector beams are used for headlamps and fog lamps, providing a jewel-like appearance and outstanding illumination, durability and appearance. At the rear, the tail lamps also have a jewellike appearance and the center stop lamp uses a clear lens design with LED illumination. The backup lamp is uniquely located in the center of the lower rear fascia.
